Crafty and Green Guest Designer

TALENTED FRIENDS OF CRAFTY AND GREEN GUEST DESIGNER DAY. Week #4

This Year, I'm starting something new! I'm going to be having a guest designer EVERY week! I decided to start 2012 out with a bang, celebrating with all my talented and crafty Friends. Each month I will have a Theme and a Sketch. The Guest Designers will follow the Theme and have the option to use the sketch or create something completely unique!
This Month the theme for my guest designers is Music Madness!
I'm So Excited to Introduce my 4th Talented Friend and Guest Designer of the Year: SUE BERMUDEZ

Today's project is based on this sketch:
I had some pictures from my daughter's Memorial Day Marching Band Parade. I also got the Quarter Note cartridge for Christmas that I was itching to use. Here is my take on the sketch:

The corner notes were cut at 2 1/4" and the smaller notes were 1 3/4" for the shadow and 1 1/2" for the white part of the note. I used Red Stickles for the lettering. The border behind the pic is the newest Creative Memories Border Maker System cartridge, Double Heart Chain. As I stated in my other post, the border maker comes back in stock around Feb 8th. If you are interested in seeing how the border maker works, here is a video:

Thanks to Tina for having me today and for giving me the inspiration to preserve a memory. Until next time...

Thank you Sue for Guest Designing today!! I was a marching band member for two years in High School! I played the Clarinet!
Thank you for your Creativity!!
Many Blessings,
Tina

Purple Funtastick Guest Designer

I feel so Blessed to be able to be a Guest Designer for one of my crafty friends, Kari at Purple Funtastick Creations!! I also was supposed to do a Guest Design spot for her Faith Verse Group on Monday, so I decided to combine the two into one project for your viewing pleasure today!

The Theme for January's Purple Funtastick Guest Designers is New Year/Goals/Party/Invite/Party appetizer. As much as a yummy appetizer sounds so appetizing, I'm doing weight watchers and really trying to get healthy, hehe!! So I decided on Goals. One of my goals is to start writing in a prayer journal. I have attempted this many times, but really would like it to work this time. So I thought I'd make a cool Prayer Journal! That's where one of my Favorite Bible Verses come into play!

As Always, I craft as Green as I possibly can!! All of the papers I used for my project are from my scrap bins! The flower I used is from a flower swap I participated in a few months ago (The colors went perfectly!)

Close up of the Bible Verse, Luke 1:46 --Just love this!!

Thank you Kari for Allowing me the Opportunity to Guest Design on your Blog!! I really love this project I did and I hope you enjoyed it as well!! Thanks Again!!

Many Blessings,
Tina

I'm So Excited to Introduce my Second Talented Friend and Guest Designer of the Year: Amy Jo

Hi there!  This is Amy Jo from Scrapping, Card Making and Living with Fibro.  I am so excited that Tina has invited me here today to be a Guest Designer!  This is my very first Guest Design spot!
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m 32, married, with three dogs and I have fibromyalgia.  I had discovered my love of papercrafting about 12 years ago, but when my best friend (at the time) and I lost touch (after scrapping for only about a year), I kind of fell out of it for a while… a long while!  In fact, I just started back up a little over a year ago and decided to take it a step further by blogging.  My illness had taken over my life and I was left home with no job, nothing to do, and a body and mind full of pain.  I decided I had to do something so I decided to take a step and go into my local scrapbook store (LSS).  I ended up working there a little bit here and there (when I could) in trade for scrapping goods and the rest is history!

I have since quite the LSS, but have developed a passion for all things paper-crafty. ;0) I must say, shopping for supplies is almost as fun as creating for me!  Since I don’t really leave the house much (due to pain), I love to order online and it’s always a happy day here when a package comes in!  Luckily, my hubby never complains and is so supportive.  He just wants me to do whatever makes me happy and this certainly does (when I am able to).  The days that I am too sick to craft, I usually at least read some sort of crafting magazine and do some blog hops online to keep my spirits up.

For today’s project, I have used Tina’s sketch and theme (music) for January as my inspiration.  Since I don’t have children, I don’t do a ton of scrapbooking, unless I feel like working on some of our vacation pictures, so instead I do a lot of cards and sell them to my friends.  So of course, I chose to do a card.  I have a few pictures here for you all to see the details.  The details on how I made the card are below…

Front of Card - Inside is Blank (for now)

Closeup of Sentiment, Punched Edge, and Popped Flower with Note

Closeup of Bird Stamped on Chipboard and Crinkle Ribbon

Closeup of stamped background paper and popped flower

Thank you Amy Jo, I Love your Card!!! Music is one of my passions & I love the naturey feel to it!! Please Make Sure you Stop by her Blog & Check out the step by step instructions of how she made this card!!

New Year- Use your Stash Blog Hop

Welcome to our New Year - Use Your Stash Blog Hop!

Hello! It's time for the “New Year- Use your Stash Blog Hop”! We’re super excited that you could join us for this awesome one day hop! This hop will be filled with lots of fun projects made with many different items from our stashes--You know what I'm talking about!

Yes,  New is Nice-- But, You know what we all do! We buy things that we never use, and store it away! So today we are sharing some goodies from our stashes. I was so excited about this hop because I love to Craft with stuff I already have! Many of you know my whole, $$Craft Green, To Save Green$$ Slogan I use all the time!! I love to craft this way, super fun & gets me to think a bit!

If you came from Brenda then you’re on the right track, but if you just happened to come across this hop, or you are reading this from your dashboard, please head back to Heather's Blog  at the beginning! We wouldn't want you to miss a thing.

Now, onto my project!

Normally, when I sit down to make a creation, I just start picking random things out of my scrap box to use. So this project was no exception! I chose this paper from my scrap box, which I got in a Scrap Swap that I host. (Scrap Swap) It's a fantastic way to get new paper to use without buying it!! I also pulled out a new Stamp that I bought at a crop back in October, I thought it was super cute! I then picked  a few embellishments out of the stash to use on this card! It's a pretty simple card, but I really like it! It's for a friend!!  The technique I used for the background of my stamp is by using a paint brush with chalk ink. Super Easy & fun (My two small kiddos loved it!)

BLOG CANDY:
Now what fun would a Hop be without some Candy to go with it?
I have a fun Grab Bag of Stash type items for the Winner of My Blog Candy.
To Win:  1. Please Follow Me & 2. Leave a Comment Below with a Email address to contact you at!

Thank you for stopping by!! Now, head on over to my talented Friend Lisa and see what fabulous creation she has to share with all of you.

Here is the complete line up in case you get lost along the way.

Talented Friends of Crafty and Green Guest Designer!!

TALENTED FRIENDS OF CRAFTY AND GREEN GUEST DESIGNER DAY

This Year, I'm starting something new! I'm going to be having a guest designer EVERY week! I decided to start 2012 out with a bang, celebrating with all my talented and crafty Friends. Each month I will have a Theme and a Sketch. The Guest Designers will follow the Theme and have the option to use the sketch or create something completely unique!

I'm So Excited to Introduce my First Talented Friend and Guest Designer of the Year: Lynne Kirsch!

Now- Here's Lynne:
"How lucky I am to have great friends that give me the opportunity to be her Guest Designer. Tina at Crafty and Green's theme for January is Music Madness. As all creative people, we know we start with one idea and our completed project is a totally different concept!!!

At times like this, I feel like Sophia from Golden Girls - picture this, my second husband was quite musically inclined and had many instruments which he could play. One of which was a Hammond organ complete with Leslie speakers. Now, this organ was in the game room of the house, and the whole house would reverb with music. Now, one of my friends, Suzie, would come over to sew and/or craft. He would be playing his usual music starting with Misty, Autumn Leaves, and then polkas, and of course as Suzie would call it - free skate!!!! Everytime I watch Charlie Brown with the ice skating scene, it brings back the found memories of his music and Suzie saying "free skate". What made this memory come even further to mind is Bitten by the Bug 2 has a challenge using Winter Wonderland ice skate. Well, between the two of these, I have my project for you . . .

Of course, I used the Cricut Winter Wonderland cartridge - this was for the card image cut at 6.00 inches. The back of card is scraps. I embossed the card with my Cuttlebug Snowflake folder. The ice skate was cut at 3.75 inches to fit on top of the card with first the silver and then the white. The white part of the skate was embossed using the Cuttlebug Swirl folder.

The inside of the card, I used a snowflake stamp with blue ink and kept stamping until the stamp is barely seen. There is no sentiment at this time but all I can think of is "free skate"!!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my ramblings of "free skate" along with my card!!! Thanks Tina again for asking me to be your Guest Designer.!!!!!"

God Bless and Happy New Year!!!!
Hugs, Love, and Pixie Dust
Lynne

THANK YOU LYNNE!
